I finally received my copy of ENDLESS RIVER in the mail -- my first CD purchase in a long, long time (maybe years), at least as far as non-film music goes. It should really be of interest to people here, since it's 90% instrumental and has a definite film music vibe. Only a few tracks in, but I'm lovin' what I'm hearing. Same here Thor, really the 2nd CD I've bought in 2014. I've heard it about 4 times and love it! Alex

Is it true that The Endless River has a different CD mix in Europe than the American mix? Is the same true for the last release of the entire back CD catalogue?

Yes, it really works as a soundtrack. I think the album defends its release. A typical "4" on the dice...

I find I never listen to them, I don't know why, I have a few of their albums & they're my sort of band. The Wall, at Earls Court, London was the best concert I've ever been to. Funnily enough Dave Gilmour's first solo album is still a huge favourite, with tracks like, Raise My Rent showing off that seagull scream guitar sound of his. Yeah, it's a fine solo album, although I think I prefer the second, more 'poppy' album. But the best and most mature is his third and latest - ON AN ISLAND. That album also opens with the 'seagull guitar', as you call it.

I'm now on my 6th or 7th listening of Gilmour's solo album RATTLE THAT LOCK from last year -- I'm liking it more and more. Anyone else got this? Apparently not...
