I'll admit I'm only really interested in the concert works. I know they'll be thorny 70s academic works but curious to see how much of Horner's voice survives in them (kinda like Goldsmiths' Music for Orchestra). But I do hope everything comes to fruition at some point.
So what's exactly the deal with that rumored LP release of THE HAND? Is it happening or is it some rumor only created by who knows who? If the score is getting released, what's the point of re-recording it? HELL if the score survives what's the point of re-recording it at all?
It was never explained why The Hand (and The Dresser) in particular was selected to be recorded if it is that difficult/expensive and ESPECIALLY when original recording is NOT LOST? Sure The Dresser is being mentioned all the time as Horner's family's favorite but still not a single word why it has to be re-recorded and what is that state of the original tapes.
