Can it get any better re-mastered than it is already, I'm disappointed in this release no new material was found, yes, its the 30th anniversary to the film, but not enough to my liking to buy it.

Mr. Young simply doesn't want it expanded. I even have 3 discs worth of music. Perhaps, some day, he will change his mind.

Really? What a shame... Lots of his scores deserve expansions, as much as i love his albums...

Hellraiser, The Dark Half, The Grudge 1 & 2, the Glass House and especially Urban Legend, just to name a few...

Really hope one day he will change his mind... Just for his fans smile

It's unfortunate that we won't get an expanded edition (for now), but I must re-iterate that this is a nearly perfect album. The only thing I would have put in, is the theme that plays when Kristy is walking outdoors, a scene at the front of the movie. The theme shows up in a few other places too, but it's absent from the album altogether. I have no idea what the theme is called, but it seems associated with the downfall of innocence and loss of sanity for all involved.

Unless the reviews on here reveal that this release sounds revolutionary, I'm good with the BSX 25th Anniversary double feature.

Can somebody in the know tell me where this was recorded?

I am looking forward to this, as I never picked up the BSX disc. But man, 3 discs worth of music?! What a shame he is not interested in an expansion. While I do agree that the current selection of material is quite good, it would be really nice to hear the remainder of the score.

No doubt the 3 discs contain alternates. Does anyone know how much of the score as heard in the film has yet to be released?

I just got a note from Mr. Young who confirmed that the entire score was remixed from the original 24 track masters and he thinks it sounds better then every.

So I'm looking forward to hearing the new version.

I have an 4(!) disc promo set containing Safety reel tracks, Safety mixes, Rough mixes, Effects stingers and musicbox parts purchased a while ago at Intrada according to them, it is not a boot. There is a lot on there that is not on the regular cd wink

I have the Silvia box-set, Cine-disc, & BSX, I will listen to this cut before deciding how good it is, I'm not ragging the release, it would of been nice to have some new material, what's wrong with that.

Sounds like a treasure trove of officially unreleased material that many of us would love to hear. Yet all the composer wants to release is an hour's worth of music. I mean, that's his prerogative, but it's still sad that we won't get to hear the new stuff anytime soon.

You can still hear it in the film. And the alternates etc aren't really essential. If Young is *this* happy about the album programme then that's good enough for me!

You're right. The music can be heard in the film. In fact, everyone should be satisfied with just that, and never clamor for another soundtrack release again roll eyes

Dang! The sound on this new edition is fan-freaking fantastic! I just got the iTunes download but will most likely get the CD or a lossless download because this music has never sounded better!
