The timing of this post is astonishingly perfect for me. I just finished reading "East of Eden" by John Steinbeck; afterwards, I watched the 1981 mini-series and loved the Lee Holdridge music. I see that Intrada did an album in 2007 and used copies go for over 50 bucks. But, thanks to sdtom's wordpress site, I see that there is a really nice re-performance by the ever spectacular Charles Gerhardt. I think the mp3 collection on Amazon will suit my pocketbook much better!
A fine composer most notably, iconic Splash, the Beast master, & one of my favourite tv series Beauty & the Beast that was big in the UK, i loved the music to that series + a lot of other work that Holdridge scored, a talented guy.
