This is a re-release of the Varese/Citadel recording from the 80's. A nice CD

Fantastic album, and actually my first exposure to this wonderful composer when I was in high school. SPLASH and THE GREAT WHALES are worth the price of admission alone!

An excellent CD. I bought it when it first came out on LP then as a CD. Don't miss it.

Just last week I was wondering "What ever happened to sdtom?" Good to see you back in action.

I admit that I only know him from Jonathan Livingston Seagull, which I adore beyond reason.

Medical issues have taken a toll on my body but I'm doing much better now in spite of doctors who seem to meddle too much. As a result I almost died twice because of no potassium and my pulse falling below 30.

The thing that I love so much about Holdridge is his thematic material. My favorite on the CD is the suite from East of Eden, the mini series but all of them are great. Charles Gerhardt is superb yet again.

Up next is going to be a BSX release of classical material of Holdridge. Don't discount this CD as it could be better than the compilation CD of movie material.

Thanks for the welcome back. Good to be posting here again.

Is it known The Beastmaster is coming out again & there is an upcoming Holdridge signing at Creature Features late this month?

I haven't heard anything about "Beastmaster" or a signing but perhaps Ford will see this and be kind enough to respond.

I would still like to see Lee's excellent score to MUSTANG COUNTRY released on CD.

Here's the link - I can't track which incarnation of Beast this is, it's been out as much as The Blue Max.

A Lee Holdridge Holy Grail for me is his score from FRENCH POSTCARDS (1979)

It's a wonderful score I would surely grab in a second if released.

I'm working on a review of his third recent release "El Pueblo del Sol." This is new to me so it is exciting to listen to for the first time.

One of my favorite things Holdridge ever did (and my introduction to him) was the orchestral arrangements for John Denver and in particular his live album “And Evening with John Denver.” John praises Lee as “a man I think is simply a genius” when he is introducing the musicians, and his work on those songs is indeed simply beautiful.

Sorry to hear of your health issues Sdtom: it's good you're on the up again.

It has been a long struggle for me. Today I was able to walk down my hall (walker) to my car and drove to Walgreens and picked up some things I needed to get. Doesn't sound like much but that was a big deal for me. My leg is tired and no more for today but I know I can do it.
