It's been like this (with periodical intervals) for many years now. We've suggested that Lukas sets up a Kickstarter campaign to finance a better and faster server, but he seems unwilling. But as I said the last time we discussed this -- many of us would be willing to just donate without the hassle of "regular" crowdfunding. Just a Paypal account. It's ultimately up to him, though.
