Got mine last week, and I really appreciate the remastering. That MCA LP was so poorly pressed. What a treat to have it so clean on CD. Thanks, Varese. This was a holy grail. Grusin at his best. -

I just went through the entire album and the amount of dialogue over Dave Grusin's wonderful music comes out to roughly 3 minutes and 32 seconds of a 41 minute album. And c'mon, people... that's 3 minutes and 32 seconds of a 77 year-old Henry Fonda bitching about old age and death. I would buy an ENTIRE CD of just that. For me, I would happily take a release with the music separated PROVIDED this album program were also part of it. This is a perfect, PERFECT album, as far as I'm concerned. The dialogue (or dialog as MCA prefers) is such beautiful prose that it's a delight to have it interwoven with the music. Granted, there are releases on which it annoys me, but this is definitely not the case. BRAVO, Varèse, for releasing this lovely album program along with THE CHAMP. Bring on the Grusin!

I'm super grateful that this got released by Varese, but I'm also firmly in the "no dialogue" camp. Both of my parents died of Alzheimer's, and the dialogue here just makes me sad. So I'm left with 4 glorious music-only tracks. Is it too much to hope for a release without the dialogue during my lifetime?
