I've no interest in it and have only seen a few headlines at the top of the local Canadian paper. Seems like there's just lots of swimming going on. Has track and field started? I used to love the Olympics when i was younger. I remember '84 & '88 but after that my interest dropped in successive years until it stopped entirely. My uncle took part in the '88 Winter Olympics, but that was about as intense as my interest got for that. It seems like there's an excess of events in it. Karaoke and Pokemon Go! will be in it soon at the rate they seem to be adding sports and hobbies (this opinion is based on lazily looking at the odd headline, not facts). If Daley Thompson isn't in it I'm not interested!

you can still get a lot of coverage live on your laptop Thor you can use BBC I player ?. Nope. Not available outside the UK. The problem with this year's coverage in Norway is twofold -- one is the time zone difference (most events take place while I'm sleeping), and the other is the fact that our commercial broadcaster (TV2) is covering the event, not our publically funded broadcaster (NRK -- our own BBC). Which means commercials and exclusive content on its pay channels. But I get to see most of the main events, at least, and most of the events where Norway has medal chances (not many!). Track-and-field is well underway, and always exciting. Also seen some swimming, bicycling, rowing, hand ball. If I'd had access, I would also have watched tennis, table tennis, football, badminton, basketball.

At times, I've watched the Olympics. Haven't much this year. Occasionally, an athlete will stand out, like Nadia Comenic (spelling?), back in the 70's, who literally sprang out of nowhere to command the world's attention. She was perfect! Used to get 10's on practically every event! Just amazing. And I've watched the Leni Riefenstahl film OLYMPIA, once all the way through, though excerpts from it appear on all vintage Olympic documentaries. That woman practically invented sports cinematography, making up techniques still in use today. She's also the one who started the "Torch Ceremony," lighting it in Olympia, Greece, and running it to Berlin. (Curiously, I later learned there is no definitive version of OLYMPIA, since all prints were tailored for the countries where they were shown.) Apart from that, when I can remember to watch them, I enjoy the opening and closing ceremonies. The ones in Beijing were particularly spectacular. I always expected more music to be composed for the Olympics, but the output has been sparse. We have to content ourselves with various fanfares, and scores for films about the Olympics.

I dont know why, but I feel this Olympics year has been the most "none care" in the passed years, although, I have been synchronizing for the Women's tournament on Beach volleyball, if you know what I mean B)
