Wow, a rave review in Fanfare! That's great James -- congratulations. (Are you able/willing to post any more of the review, assuming the reviewer went into more detail?) Now we just have to get Tadlow into Gramophone's reviews section. In the other thread, you seemed to indicate that The Blue Max sold better than any of the three Goldsmith scores recorded for Prometheus -- is that indeed the case? Yavar

fanfare magazine seem to rather like my production... Some purists may prefer Goldsmith’s lean, angular dissonances on La-La Land’s complete soundtrack album purely as a performance, but make no mistake, Raine and the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra with Tadlow’s sound have given us nothing less than the best available recording of Goldsmith’s full orchestral sound, by far. The Blue Max is definitely Want List material. Arthur Lintgen It's always nice to get praise and I'm quite sure this recording is "nothing less" than what everything everyone that likes it says it is, but for me I'll take the OSR and am glad I finally gave in and got the La-La Land CD. However, perhaps at some future time I'll get this re-recording if only out of the most profound curiosity, and who knows, I may wonder why I waited? Rest assured, though, that if you ever re-record Goldsmith's PLANET OF THE APES and put as much effort, care, and affection into it as you've done with THE BLUE MAX, it'll be instantly ordered by me, and if it's excellently done, I'll sing its praises here and anywhere I can. Good luck with continued sales of THE BLUE MAX.

fanfare magazine seem to rather like my production... Of course. To hear it is to be impressed by it. However, perhaps at some future time I'll get this re-recording if only out of the most profound curiosity, and who knows, I may wonder why I waited? You might… it's a really fantastic recording and performance. I'll be honest, I love the original soundtrack recording and loved both Intrada and La La Land's respective presentations, but the Tadlow recording has become my first choice for this score. Also bear in mind that the second disc is a first-class, thunderously performed cross-section of Goldsmith's career. The suite from The Chairman is worth the price of the set alone.
