This is the first new score from composer Steven Price since his Academy Award® win for Gravity.

First new movie score, yes (he scored the pilot of Believe and all the subsequent episodes).

I hope it's more MONUMENTS MEN than WINTER SOLDIER.

Can't Varese say anything about the score? Not one single word of description.

Well, it's still two months from release.
He probably hasn't written (programmed?) a note yet!

Well, I enjoyed parts of ATTACK THE BLOCK and GRAVITY has some really effective (and musically enjoyable) moments, plus there are some cool tracks to be heard in WORLD'S END too, so I really hope Price carves out a strong music score career for me to enjoy.
I'm cautiously optimistic about this one.
While I'm not expecting Kelly's Heroes wink I do hope there are some fine musical moments in that WWII score, time-honoured tradition.

A long score CD too, about 68 minutes, looks like.

I said it when The World's End came out, and then again when Gravity came out... I would absolutely LOVE to hear Steven Price write the music for a straightforward emotional drama. To me, Fury shines the brightest when the emotional bits are happening and he can break away from the sound of Gravity. I wish there were more bits like the last few minutes of Still In This Fight and the finally cue on the album. His scores always leave me wanting more (not necessarily in a bad way) and I can't wait for his next project. His scores so far tend to strike somewhat of an emotional nerve for me and stick with me.

Just finished my first listen of this one during my morning and evening work commutes.

WOW. This is quite a brave sound for the genre of film, and I hope the score finds its audience (like Mr. Southall, I am a believer) but its gonna have to be subjected to the usual rigamarole of hate around FSM.

I have given it two spins since I got it in the mail yesterday, and I really like it quite a lot. Good stuff.

The movie was better than I expected, though overlong. I thought the score drew too much attention to itself, and not in a good way. The choral stuff took me out of the movie every time I noticed it.

This is quite a brave sound for the genre of film . . .

Perhaps. But really, how likely was it that this film was going to receive a John Addison-type war film score? Now that would have been brave. Still, had I been asked to name the genre after listening to the score before seeing the film, a WWII action film would have been fairly low on my list. Space epic and superhero film would have been my top two choices. So, by completely eliminating any references to the militaristic tropes of earlier war film scores (march rhythms, snare drums), this score does break new ground, even as it takes another step towards the homogenization of film scores.

Saw this film last night (and just before it disappeared completely from screens, after about 3/4 weeks of release).
Very enjoyable (well, maybe enjoyable is not the right word, well-done perhaps), albeit quite derivative of Band Of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan (I know, hard to avoid, I guess).
I got involved in the plot and characters, was never bored and enjoyed the look and feel of the film, although I won't ever buy the final contrivance (SPOILER*** the Nazi who looks under the tank and lets him live! He's just killed 75% of his mates and those where supposed to be SS soldiers, not given to mercy, unlike the latter draftees in the German army seen earlier).
I thought the score worked fine, although I was reminded of Gravity on quite a few occasions. It will be interesting to see if and how Price develops and if he chooses other ways to 'skin a cat', so to speak.

Saw the movie today and really liked. I thought the score fit the film very well and those emotional moments when you could hear the main theme were very nice. That last scene where the track Norman plays you can hear the main theme in a beautiful rendition.

It's so simple yet so effective. It's very powerful in that last scene.
