The movie was better than I expected, though overlong. I thought the score drew too much attention to itself, and not in a good way. The choral stuff took me out of the movie every time I noticed it.

Saw this film last night (and just before it disappeared completely from screens, after about 3/4 weeks of release). Very enjoyable (well, maybe enjoyable is not the right word, well-done perhaps), albeit quite derivative of Band Of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan (I know, hard to avoid, I guess). I got involved in the plot and characters, was never bored and enjoyed the look and feel of the film, although I won't ever buy the final contrivance (SPOILER*** the Nazi who looks under the tank and lets him live! He's just killed 75% of his mates and those where supposed to be SS soldiers, not given to mercy, unlike the latter draftees in the German army seen earlier). I thought the score worked fine, although I was reminded of Gravity on quite a few occasions. It will be interesting to see if and how Price develops and if he chooses other ways to 'skin a cat', so to speak.
