Just wondered if anybody has anything news wise on the status of John Williams Dracula being rereleased.

Never say never, but I think this is a lost cause. It was discussed recently here. I forget the specifics, but it drained away all my hope, at least regarding the original recordings. I bought the CD back in 92' and was so unimpressed by the pinched sound and analog hiss that I traded it away after a few years. Now, that CD is selling for hundreds of dollars and I don't think that horrible sounding CD is worth anything over $30.

If so, this could mean a complete Dracula is possible, providing the original tapes exist... They don't. Source?

Well this is sad news... surprising the tapes are MIA, considering it was a big movie and it's not that old. LOL Are you kidding me? Huge scores for the 90's are missing! lol MV

Has Tadlow ever weighed in on this title? And by that I mean, is it on their radar?

DRACULA is one of John Williams best scores ever, among my absolut favorites of this composer. I do own the original CD as well as the vinyl, but the sound definitely could need some improvement. I know there are also some nice cues missing, though I'm not sure how much they'd add to the overall listening experience. Pitty if the tapes are actually lost. :-( But I'd be all up for a well done re-recording.
