SO, there is a photo in a recent Entertainment Weekly featuring the cast of the next STAR WARS movie. LOOK , its Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher... WOW! NOT. consider theses facts: the last GOOD SW flic was EMPIRE in 1980 that's 4 straight stinkers in a row since ... and as far as SUPERMAN goes.... the only good one was the first in 1978 that's 5 straight stinkers in a row. To sum up: STAR WARS & SUPERMAN have a combined total of 9 straight bombs in a row totaling 70 years of domestic distribution> "Ya see, they're on a losin streak..." brm

You just now came to this? I couldn't get excited about a new Superman films after seeing the original sequels to the '79 film. Then I saw the hammy '90's live action series. Then I saw the Godawful designs and plot outline for the Tim Burton film that didn't thankfully get off the ground. Then there was, of course, the two attemps. I reached the same point with Star Wars after seeing TPM, and seeing parts of the next two crapquels. I'll do you a couple better: I can't get excited about a new Williams score. I can't get excited about new superhero scores.

I never thought Superman was reversing the Earth rotation, but flew faster than light to go back in time himself (which below would look like the Earth reversing direction to him).

Just to clarify, those aren't facts, those are opinions... I happen to the love the first two SUPERMAN films equally, they're a great double feature for me, always have been since they were released. SUPERMAN III has some fun elements, but yes, it's not quite as successful. When it comes to STAR WARS, the first film is the real ground-breaker, but I happen to love all in that series, each one for different reasons. So for me, I can still excited about new movies in both these series, as they involve characters and universes I enjoy escaping into.

Try viagra. Exactly. If the lift has gone, Bruce Marshall, perhaps you should look for alternatives rather than being a big old Debbie Downer.

Well for anyone growing up when SW or SMTMP came out they were unique cinematic experiences. Same with the first Raiders film. yES, THEY WERE!!!!!! At least INDY has had some sequels that are quite good. AND, the Bond flics have managed to produce some pretty good flics over the years when the franchised seemed kaput. So has the BATMAN franchise. oh well. brm
