Very disapointed in this realease, I already have it. Then you don't need to buy this CD, you've saved some money!! Just be pleased for other people who didn't buy the box set and can now buy a copy of KK1.

So how long before we get just the Spartacus soundtrack minus the kitchen sink and a nice shiny book? In my case, that'd be great, though I know it'd peeve off a bunch o folks. This is a great score, but it's not in my budget to buy it in the deluxe edition. I'm not a big enough fan, which is not meant to diminish what a great set it is. As for KARATE KID, I think it's definitely an interesting move on Varèse's part; they must have had requests for it, you think?

soundtrack labels are fooling us with that LIMITED EDITION GET IT NOW TILL IS GONE AND GET THE WHOLE PACKAGE EVEN IF YOU ONLY WANT 1 SCORE thing. If they keep "fooling" you, then you haven't been paying attention. How many of the FSM box titles have Kritzerland recently reissued? What about Poseidon Adventure, Batman the Movie, Predator, The Way West, Patton, Dragonslayer, Krull, etc? How many times has Re-Animator been re-issued?! If there's demand for a score and the elements exist to make it available, guess what, someone's going to find a way to make a buck on it! This shouldn't surprise anyone. For timing and monetary concerns, I wasn't able to get the original release of the Karate Kid scores, so I'm happy things work this way. Now I get to enjoy the music as well! Grumble all you want at more film score fans being able to own the music; I'll just listen to the CD as a means of forgetting all the selfishness and "woe is me" on this thread. --Ben

Ordered together with Family Plot, 20th Century Fox: 75 Years Of Great Film Music and my favorite North And South: Book II. Since I was unable to get the Box I am really happy with this release. Cheers

I dunno. I purchased the box set because I loved the first film's score; I didn't recall the others at the time. Nevertheless, even though the first film's score has been released again, which is what I meant to get in the first place, I don't really mind for four main reasons: 1.) I bought the box set three years ago. 2.) I gave the sequel scores a good, open-minded listen and found them to be an engaging extension of the music from the first film, especially Part II. So I'm quite happy to have all four. 3.) I get to save some of the money I had earmarked for the Varese Club for another release. 4.) People out there who missed the first issue of the score or have only just discovered Conti can now enjoy one of his most iconic. That means more people to talk to about it.
