No way.

I enjoyed the movie, but the movie, score and composer just don't have any kind of high enough profile or cult appeal to get a release. Even though its been years since seeing the movie, it's original release, I remember liking the score even if I can't recall a bit of it now.

If Leonard had a following in the soundtrack community, if the movie had been more successful, maybe. Unless the composer gets a promo out himself somehow it'll never happen frown

It's possible. Musicians just as obscure have had scores released (example: Varese CD Club doing Jonathan Shaffer's In A Shallow Grave).

I don't agree. Far more obscure scores than this get a release. I could really see a 500 copy version from Perseverance for instance. And the film has several stars in it too. Many people still talk about Walken's terrific performance in the film.

AT CLOSE RANGE is one of the best, most underrated American films of the '80s, supplemented by a very affecting, effective score by Patrick Leonard.

At Close Range is beutifully scored by Leonard and it needs a release...A great movie with great acting by Penn and Walken...
The guitarversion of live to tell in the movie (the love scene) is awsome...

this IS MUSIC and not some hohum synthetic noice like the days composers

Yes, thats it (and by synthetic I didn´t mean electronic as I know Leonard played on that too, but this day there is only sounds and no melody)

It's possible. Musicians just as obscure have had scores released (example: Varese CD Club doing Jonathan Shaffer's In A Shallow Grave).

But that was a CD reissue of a score that had already been released at the time of the film, not a premiere release almost 20 years later. Also, people weren't exactly clamouring for its release even then (and At Close Range isn't one of the most beloved movies to come out of the 1980s), so unless First Breath goes back in time and does some changing of history it's not going to happen. Ever. Deal with it.

For your information, I have some serious plans of entering a black hole in the near future, which will put me back to 1985, so watch out for the At Close Range score on CD in not such a long time.

Excellent. While you're there, I'd like 52 Pick Up and Let's Get Harry on one CD please

Why not go a lot sooner - preferably right now? Also, you realise that there's a chance you'd wind up in a parallel universe or go the way of that poor woman in The X Files's "Soft Light." And that someone who hates '80s synth scores will also return and change the timeline back to what it originally was. So really, you may as well leave things alone.
