I saw this movie again yesterday, and I realized how much great score material by Patrick Leonard is in the film, it's not just the Live To Tell theme, but also some dynamite action/tension material among other things. Will we ever see a release of this score? I think labels like La La Land and Varese CD Club definitely should check this one out. It's been 23 years!

I bought a 45 rpm at the time of Madonna's song which had the Instrumental version on the flipside. That was the closest to having the soundtrack. I believe the complete score is here in this sharing, running under 8 minutes exluding the song itself which was used as the End Title music. Great stuff by Leonard. Zoob The suite is far from the complete score. As I mentioned there is some great tension material, and a terrific cue when Sean Penn washes off the blood stains towards the end. Plus several other cues, some in a funky vein. After all, the film runs for 110 minutes.

you have about 5 min more of Leonard's score in his Film Music promo. Yes, a track called "Murder", from the drowning of Lester.

There's a neat compilation CD called THE BEST OF HEMDALE from 1991 that also has the instrumental version of Live to Tell (4:10) by Patrick Leonard. The CD has the advantage of being mastered by the renown Steve Hoffman and contains some other interesting items like a unique synth version of Goldsmiths's HOOSIERS theme, two tracks from Fiedel's TERMINATOR and a couple of tracks by Delerue - all originals and not cover versions. I just dug the HEMDALE CD out and as far as the HOOSIERS tracks are concerned - aren't they both on the existent TER release?

I just dug the HEMDALE CD out and as far as the HOOSIERS tracks are concerned - aren't they both on the existent TER release? Ah, the danger of going by memory instead of pulling out the CDs to check. I believe the second HOOSIERS rack on the Hemdale CD, "Welcome to Hickory" (8:48) is unique to this compilation and not on the TER release. Steve Hoffman's mastering is so good I thought that the main themes were also different. But check me on the second track. I don't think that one's on the full score unless it's some kind of edit. Well, that 8:48 is what threw me, because on my copy of the Hemdale disc the sleeve says 8:48 but the track only runs 3:52, and I think it's the second half of TER's "The Finals".
