Per a comment by Doug on the Intrada Forum in regards to Night Crossing, there will be an expanded reissue of a Disney title in the next batch

We've had more than the customary number of personal thank you letters from listeners that can't get enough of the score. And this new edition seems to satisfy their hunger quite nicely. A lot of the mail includes more Disney requests, both of expanding earlier releases as well as chasing down never-before-released titles. So to answer all those requests in a single swipe - feel happy knowing we have both reissues and new titles from the studio now in the works. One such expanded title comes out this next week, in fact!
--Doug

My guesses are: The Ghost and the Darkness or The Rocketeer, both of which have been hinted at as coming from Intrada.

More Disney, yes! The Rocketeer would be fantastic, but personally I'm hoping next week's expansion will be Mulan or Atlantis: The Lost Empire.

I would love to see The Rocketeer, too!

Not counting on it or really expecting it anytime soon, but I'd be thrilled if it was Dick Tracy. Though nothing about that clue would hint it it even being Dick Tracy. I can dream, can't I?

Expanded assumes it was a title that was released before. One can also assume it would be a film that fell under the Walt Disney banner, not Touchstone.

It won't be The Ghost and the Darkness.

There are so many Disney titles that have never been released, though I doubt they're on Intrada's, or, for that matter, Disney's agenda:

I'd love to get music from the TRUE LIFE ADVENTURES, MAKE MINE MUSIC, MELODY TIME, SO DEAR TO MY HEART, not to mention that perennial Disney bugaboo, SONG OF THE SOUTH.

But I seriously doubt any of these will ever make it to CD. Oh well.

Roger posted these clues about the releases on the 9th

"one new Excalibur title coming which is a little different than usual, featuring choral music from two famous films scored by the biblical film composer master himself.

The other is a late 90s thriller/action flick on the high seas, nearly doubling the running length of the original CD."

I'm not sure what the 90's CD could be, but I think the high seas portion rules out Rocketeer and Ghost and the Darkness. Also, color me excited about the Excalibur release as it would seem we are getting two new Rozsa scores.

While I like all these ideas remember it has to be a release not on CD before. They don't do expansions of existing scores on CD. Since its a reissue I would guess its only seen the light of day on LP. Thus a much older title.

Rozsa chorus/organ suites from Ben-Hur and King of Kings, like the old Prometheus disc? Or perhaps those pieces, but set with orchestra now?

Could be cool!

So why does Doug Fake say "One such expanded title comes out this next week, in fact" then?

They don't do expansions of existing Disney films on CD, like the animations. Existing CD scores that were Touchstone or Hollywood Pictures are fair game. With a clue like that it's almost certainly Deep Rising, and I am almost certainly buying it.

Is this one of these cases where the album's going to be a real revelation since so much good score was left off the first release? I was never overly impressed with the initial release of Deep Rising but haven't ever sat through the film.

Chris.

Sounds about right to me too.

Gotta admit, my ears watching/listening to the films Ghost and the Darkness and Deep Rising did nothing for me, BUT I'm ecstatic that any Goldsmith score gets an expansion, especially Disney titles so that we will cease to read more posts that "Intrada doesnt do expanded Disney Scores" LOL

Looking forward to The Rocketeer when its day comes.

How do you see Deep Rising in the clue? I'm not saying it isn't of course. I've only seen the film like twice. I must be missing a clue or something? I read the appetite clue thing, but couldn't that be several movies?

I'm never good at guessing these things by the way.
