What are your memories from MTV? For me, it was the shows Party Zone and Chill Out Zone in the 90s which had the best music on MTV. Me and my mates used to see those shows every saturday night, waiting for some great tunes. I have just compiled three DVDs with some of the videos I remember from those shows, taken from YouTube. The track lists are like this: . ELECTROTETE - I LOVE YOU AIRSTREAM - AIRSTREAM ELECTRONIC . I understand that you're quite into house/trance music like Juno Reactor and Paul Van Dyk now though. How and when did that happen if not through MTV?

I understand that you're quite into house/trance music like Juno Reactor and Paul Van Dyk now though. How and when did that happen if not through MTV? Waaay into the 90s. Maybe even the early 2000s. By that point, MTV was more into "Cribs" and whatever lifestyle/reality shows they had, so no help there. It was mostly through the Oslo underground that my interest in that genre first appeared. I was always out of tune with my own time in terms of pop music. When I was a kid, I mostly listened to old rock'n'roll from the 50s, or prog rock/symphonic rock from the 70s, both before I was even born. Obviously, I registered some names and acts throughout the 80s, in my side vision (you can't be a child of the 80s and not be aware of acts like Samantha Fox or Rick Astley, for example), and while I liked and even owned some of them, few came close to my passion for older pop music. And the less said about the 90s, the better. God, I HATED grunge. But as I said, we did have access to MTV when we got cable television. I knew very well who Pat Sharpe & co. were.

Pat Sharp was never on Mtv though. Thankfully, there was a genre in the 90s that had everything grunge didn't have; house music.
