THURSDAY, AUGUST 11

BONES AND ALL---trailer released for the cannibal movie starring Timothee Chalamet.

BLACK ADAM---photos from the DC superhero movie show Dwayne Johnson, Pierce Brosnan and Aldis Hodge.

THE LORD OF THE RINGS: RINGS OF POWER---Martin Freeman commented on if he might return as Bilbo Baggins for the Amazon tv series, "I wish them well, I hope it’s good, like I want everything to be good. Whether I would do it again, it would really depend on who was doing it and why I suppose. If it didn’t look conspicuous and if it wasn’t jarring, then maybe so, but anything that pulled the viewer out and [made them] go, 'Well, that’s a different version,' 'that might be a bit weird. But as with all those things, it depends on who the minds are behind it."

ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING---Steve Martin hinted he might retire after ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING ends, "We were very happy just doing the live show. There may be a natural end to that -- somebody gets sick, somebody just wears out -- but I wouldn't do it without Marty. When this television show is done, I'm not going to seek others. I'm not going to seek other movies. I don't want to do cameos. This is, weirdly, it."
He added, "My wife keeps saying, 'You always say you're going to retire and then you always come up with something.' I'm really not interested in retiring. I'm not. But I would just work a little less. Maybe."

THE FLASH---after Ezra Miller's latest arrest, Warner Bros. reportedly has decided on three options for THE FLASH. Option 1 hopes Miller seeks treatment for his problems which end any future legal problems. Option 2 is release the movie as is and replace Miller with another actor for future projects. Option 3 is cancel THE FLASH and take a huge loss if Miller's problems continue.

NATIONAL TREASURE: EDGE OF HISTORY---executive producer Marianne Wibberley commented on the spinoff tv series' connection to the two Nicolas Cage movies, "It’s an extension. It’s an expansion of the universe, set 17 years later. Peter Sadusky (Harvey Keitel) is 17 years older. Riley Poole (Justin Bartha) has published two more books, (and) has a podcast. Ben Gates (Nicolas Cage) is a big rock star in this world. He’s a treasure hunter rock star. He’s not IN the show. Sorry. We’re still trying to reel him in for (something). But, you know, it’s still the same. It’s just a younger cast, and we have cameos by characters in the movies, but a young cast with female-centric stories."

THE REGULATORS---movie underway based on the Stephen King novel with King's approval for the script.

TALES OF THE WALKING DEAD---the anthology series' showrunner, Channing Powell, said one episode will be a musical, "We may be doing different formats and possibility utilizing animation, music, different mediums. We want to surprise people every week with what they will be getting. [The musical episode is] written! We have a whole script for it. Should we get a Season 2 or 3, I'm going to push for that one if I can. It lives in my heart and in my mind."

TRIVIA---THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW episode "The Song Festers" is best known for revealing that Gomer Pyle (Jim Nabors) has a great singing voice. Also, Griffith's real wife, Barbara, plays a member of the choir and has only one line, "I'm sorry, Mr. Masters."

In "The Song Festers", Andy Griffith's real wife, Barbara (left) plays a member of the choir.

Sounds...not good.

I've seen a trailer for Black Adam & it just looks like all the other superhero movies.

Tales Of The Walking Dead: The Musical, forget it!

Thanks, Dragon!

One of the better episodes, if you're a fan of the show. This ep is the only time I almost felt sorry for Barney.
Don Knotts actually had a decent singing voice and used it in a few eps, but I can't remember the names now.
The one thing that's always bugged me about the show was how it was touted as 'wholesome", family fun.
Yet, Andy was constantly lying and manipulating to help protect Barney from various bad outcomes. Sure, it was just a TV show, but that annoyed me about it when I was young. Don Knotts really brought Barney to life.
I know most all the folks are passed on now, but when you read about Andy and Don and their off-screen exploits, they come off as not being like their characters in real life. Andy's son has made that clear in the past, that his dad wasn't like Opie's.

This guy is a walking, breathing dumpster fire. Option 3 would be a shame after all this time and money.

But wow, that would be three strikes for Keaton's fans.

Mr. Miller has struck me as perfect for The Flash, as Cumberbatch and Downey Jr. - he has done a good job, and he can be proud of that bit of theater he has helped create. I hope he gets help and takes in where he is in life. Step back, slow down, relax, and mitigate the very public aspects of a life in Hollywood. You've made it, you're human. Be kind and try to do good things.

I honestly loved him in the role, but damn he really needs to seek legitimate help. But he just keeps getting in deeper.

I guess just release it. If his personal life turns people off then they won't watch anymore of his movies. If his personal life gets in the way of him doing his job then studios won't hire him anymore.

I know Tom Cruise is a huge box office draw again. But I seem to recall his career taking a nosedive after his jumping on the couch incident. Fans thought this guy was crazy and people fell out of love with him for awhile. Obviously he's made a comeback.

All we need to do is wait.
Sooner or later someone will ask him his opinion on something about which he knows nothing, like post-partum depression or psychiatry (to name just 2 actual examples*).
He then will not be able to resist delivering unto us, great unwashed wretches that we are, more of his pontifications and other general spewings of his superior mind.

(* Look them up--they are hugely entertaining.)

I think he learned his lesson. Keep my mouth shut and hang outside of 120 story buildings and it will all be good. Apparently there's good crazy and bad crazy. Just gotta know what crazy the audience likes. wink
