THE MANDALORIAN---Lucasfilm announced it hired YouTube deepfake artist Shamook after he posted his video of Luke Skywalker in THE MANDALORIAN that is better than ILM's version, “[Industrial Light and Magic is] always on the lookout for talented artists and have in fact hired the artist that goes by the online persona ‘Shamook’. Over the past several years ILM has been investing in both machine learning and A.I. as a means to produce compelling visual effects work and it’s been terrific to see momentum building in this space as the technology advances.”

OBI-WAN KENOBI---Joel Edgerton, who is returning as Owen Lars for the Disney+ miniseries, commented on the plot details, "I'm unable to discuss [the series] and potentially totally as in the dark as you are. We all know the universe of STAR WARS is on serious lockdown. Part of the reason for that is that people don't want the stories too spoiled before they come out. The great thing about STAR WARS fans are they are the creators of the next STAR WARS universes and I think that whoever's creating these things are creating them with the fans in mind, knowing that they hold the keys to that universe. To deviate too far from what you might expect could mean death by lightsaber and yet, to not introduce surprises within that mix is death to creativity."
THE EXORCIST---Ellen Burstyn is returning as Chris MacNeil for the Paramount/Peacock sequel trilogy to the original 1973 movie. Leslie Odoms, Jr. will play a father who seeks MacNeil after his child is possessed.
BLACK WIDOW---Stephen Dorff regrets his negative comments about BLACK WIDOW, "Oh, I love Scarlett. I think that was taken a little bit out of context. She’s a great actress. I just… I’m not a fan. I love Scarlett, though, I heard she’s going to be a mom so I wish her the best and she’s an old friend of mine so I felt bad about that comment.
I haven’t seen [BLACK WIDOW], I don’t really go to those movies. I liked IRON MAN, I like when they go a little darker. I love the JOKER. I’m looking forward to the new BATMAN. But, you know, that guy in England got me at a moment where I was just sh*t talking a little bit and I felt a little bad about it. Happens sometimes. I haven’t heard from Scarlett, but I sent her a little note, though.
TRIVIA---Charlton Heston and Brock Peters appeared in two movies in which Heston played a police detective: SOYLENT GREEN and TWO-MINUTE WARNING. In SOYLENT GREEN, Heston played NYPD Detective Thorn and Peters played Chief Hatcher. In TWO-MINUTE WARNING, Heston played LAPD Captain Peter Holly and Peters played Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Maintenance Director Paul. Heston and Peters also appeared in the Western movie MAJOR DUNDEE.

Honestly, if I didn't see the original and deepfake versions of Luke side-by-side, I probably may have not noticed the difference, or at least thought yo myself: Wait, something looks different, let me watch those again...
But, having said that, while by no means still "perfect" as such a thing can be right now with technology, the deepfake is better in direct comparison.
Mother: "You're making more fucking YouTube videos? You'll never get anywhere!"
Gets job at Disney/Lucasfilm

The Deepfake version mouth looks no better to me.... Who did Luke's youthful voice?
Tech issues aside, how cool is it to land a dream job for posting the results of your hobby on YouTube?
Honestly, if I didn't see the original and deepfake versions of Luke side-by-side, I probably may have not noticed the difference, or at least thought yo myself: Wait, something looks different, let me watch those again...
But, having said that, while by no means still "perfect" as such a thing can be right now with technology, the deepfake is better in direct comparison.

Funny thing Shamook's Deepfake Luke isn't his best effort, far from it. I consider it one of his leaser efforts. But look at his other deep fakes, they are amazing. Good for him for getting a job at a big studio. Now he'll learn the painful truth of internal creative politics, time crunches, and just make it good enough directions from his superiors. Nothing kills an artists optimism than doing art for someone else.

Good for him for getting a job at a big studio. Now he'll learn the painful truth of internal creative politics, time crunches, and just make it good enough directions from his superiors. Nothing kills an artists optimism than doing art for someone else.
Indeed, to your point, "Shamook" has the following comment pinned to the top of that YT video:
"Unfortunately there isn't much I can do to improve the animation/mouth syncing, if I had access to the body double footage before they applied the CGI, deep fake would be a definite improvement.
Hopefully they release some behind the scenes footage eventually so I can give that a try.
Also, I only had 4 days spare to do this deepfake before the holidays, I'm not 100% happy with the quality but here it is anyway."

I think it looks great...but it feels weird. Like he didn't blink enough and the words don't quite make the mouth movement.
I've seen more convincing videos on TikTok, honestly, and I'm not being snide. A couple of guys on there do some great stuff for comedy and it works.
