I am ordering a lot more soundtracks than in previous years, and thus spending a lot more money (despite an enormous drop in income due to the pandemic). Am I getting a kind of comfort from acquiring these things, in lieu of social contact?

Ordered but not yet received -

FACE OF A FUGITIVE (Jerry Goldsmith)
ARCHER/ WARNING SHOT (Jerry Goldsmith)
SODOM AND GOMORRAH (Miklós Rózsa, re-recording)

Will I enjoy listening to them? Will I actually like the music? Will I feel guilty about spending cash on stuff I don't really "need"? Will I torture myself by thinking that my possessions are becoming a burden, and governing my life? Do yooz have these soundtracks? Do you like them? Will I like them? I hardly even have the time to listen to my other 700 CDs. Please help me.

I hear you. I’ve definitely been ordering more than I have in the past (with my most recent order a few posts up having just shipped), so you’re definitely not alone on this. Hope you enjoy Sodom as that’s a great Rozsa score expertly recorded by Tadlow that’s greatly overlooked compared to his other epic scores, due in no small part to the terrible film it accompanies.

There's NOTHING new in my collection- my last purchase was Quartets magnificent GTBTU late last year. Nothing has interested me so far this year though I hope things will pick up later in the year.

That being said, I've been collecting so many years now, and have so many Grails etc that I can't imagine there's much left- maybe Horner expansions or remasters for Glory, Brainstorm and Field of Dreams but really, I have the expanded Thin Red Line, Silent Running on CD... and so many others. I'm good.

Land of the Lustrous (Anime) - Yoshiaki Fujisawa

This one is absolutely awesome - orchestral / little bit minimalist, incredible action themes and beautiful melodies. Great choice!

Yep! I didn't like the anime, but the score blew me away.

Today I stumbled across the Papillon LP in a local used book/record shop and since I've never owned that score, spent the five bucks. Now playing and enjoying.
