Yep - Collateral seems to be right up there on the how much??!! scalper top ten. Clearly not many copies around. Would be ace if Intrada could repress this (and a few others natch) though as with all of them I don’t know if there’s either the incentive or possibility as the licence(s) may have lapsed.
Apologies for replying to your want thread OP without being able to help.
I bought this because I really loved the film. Initially I wasn’t impressed with the soundtrack but I have come to like it a lot. It’s a very subtle score. It went out of print quickly so I’m sure they didn’t sell a lot. I guess I’m not much help either. Sorry.

Why do you keep calling secondary sellers scalpers? Just because someone has something you don't have and is willing to sell it a a high price doesn't label them a scalper. If you don't want to pay their prices, don't just don't bother. It's your choice to buy it or not. Yes, there are many people who over priced stuff and it doesn't mean you can't contact them and negotiate something. A trade is also a good way to get something like this if you so choose and that is my entire point of this is that "you have the choice". The best advice like I stated on another thread is just that simple, get it when it comes out to avoid this which is what I have done all these twenty plus years. Try and save some money for it if you don't have it to get it. Like I said it is "your choice to buy or not to buy" No one is forcing you to spend more than you want to but unfortunately that's the going rate for things like this now and it is not "scalper" prices and in time, things do go down and that's when you have to make your move. Or for example, if it showed up for say forty dollars let's say and the price is double, are you going to let it go to someone else just because you didn't want to spend a little more than what Intrada sold it for? It would be a big mistake if you did. I've had a few scores I've missed out on and I've to shell out a little more, but knowing I wanted it, I went for it.
Oh just to throw in something there are "two versions" of Kong Skull Island by Henry Jackman. There is the Japanese Rambling Records version that goes for well over 60 dollars. Screen Archives had it at one point for around 40 a few years ago and missed out on it. There's also the WaterTower Music version which is the same as the Japanese version with no additional music which I got off eBay about a year ago. I might be interested in parting with it. I'll find some time to listen to it again and let you know.
Often in the past I didn't have the money for every Cd that was released. So I like many have had to pick and chose based on what I can afford. Plus my taste's have changed. A composer that didn't initially appeal to me suddenly does and the Cd is out of print.

Not everyone has that luxury and you do your best to get what you want but not forced to do anything you don't want to. Even I've missed alot of titles and had to get them for a little more than I want to and then there are reissues so it's not entirely the end of the world. Just a little patience and luck is the best one can hope for.
