I heard saxophonist/composer Washington's 2016 3-CD debut, The Epic, and thought it was one of the most glorious new things I'd heard in jazz in some time, a blend of spiritual jazz and funk. I didn't know he composed for films! Has anybody heard Becoming?

TROS was not a strong work at all and one of my least favorite of Williams' music for Star Wars. But when looking at his body of work for all of the Star Wars films - what a legacy! He should get some kind of award for that achievement alone. As for the other nominees... I'm only familiar with The Joker and thought it was quite good.
