There's an episode of Mannix from 1972, "The Upside Down Penny" (S6) that has a scene in which our intrepid detective is pursuing some thug.

We started watching last night, and got halfway through. We had to watch the premiere of "Fargo."

We got to the pool scene, where they had a tiki as part of the landscaping. This led to a modified rooftop chase. Why did every 70s cop show have a rooftop chase?

Cool, thanks!

Most people have bad impressions of rum cocktails, because there are so many bad ones out there.

Detective shows, too. Perhaps it's just a trope of the genre and dramatic since people often fall from the tops of buildings.

Upon further reflection, filming on a rooftop is probably cheaper to produce. After all, there's no gawking people in the background. There's also no traffic to be roped off, which must cost more than only seeing L.A.'s putridly-smoggy skies in the distance.
