Always on a mission, is Ado. Looking forward to your evaluation once you’ve actually seen it (even though I pretty much know what it will look like).
Not discussed much was it? And this was when Kit Harington was on the highest rating series on television. How many films are released any given year? Can't be more than 82?
Warner have really spread out the openings for some reason. It opens today in France, Sweden & Switzerland & tomorrow in Germany, but not until October 21st in the UK & the the day after for the US, & Australia on December 2nd!
BR2049 bored me to tears. Gave up after 30 or 40 minutes. Found it trite and like most films today self important.
Would you say that of Prisoners, Sol?
This is my experience as well. I greatly enjoyed Prisoners and while I admired BR2049 for a lot of things and found I enjoyed it more than I expected - I may never watch it again. It has a glacial pace and its emotionally dead characters and story made the original feel hot like an oven. Its beautiful to look at though.
That said, I expect this Dune to be the same: everything boiled down to the concept of sound design over music. Noise or vibe over actual feeling. That works for some people but not for me.

Seems like they want to get the most out of the box office internationally before it bombs in the states.

that is well stated, I find DV a very over-rated director, his sense of pacing and drama has become pretty dead. This stuff comes out more like a boring art project than a film, it is inert and pointless.
