A related question of sorts.
Last night, while flicking through the channels, the Ennio Maestro doc was showing on Sky Arts.
It was around the bit where Ennio says he wanted to work with Kubrick on CLOCKWORK ORANGE (at Kubrick's request) but Leone told Kubrick he couldn't do it cos he was still busy doing his film (DOLLARS something) when that wasn't true.
Sneaky b@stard.
Anyway, just after that, John Williams and Hans Zimmer - amongst others - come on singing Morry's virtues and we hear a lovely, soft strings piece (with typical Ennio pauses).
Can someone tell me what film score THAT is from?
Thanks in advance.

That part is from En Mai Fais Ce Qu’il Te Plait (Come What May) 2015 Haven’t you heard that score I suggest you to take a listen. It’s beautiful.

Thanks Mathias, for your prompt response.
The scary thing is, I knew I had it on CD, within my collection, but couldn't reconcile the music with the CD.
And agreed, it's one of my absolute favourite EM scores.
I'm digging it out right now.

Leone told kubrick that Ennio was still in post-production on Duck you sucker (not Dollar film), but i think truth is they were coming to the end of it and leone probably could have done the rest without him.
So Ennio- Kubrick wasnt to be.
But maybe Kubrick would have asked Morricone to adapt classical stuff anyway - not something high on Ennio's likes.

En Mai Fais Ce Qu’il Te Plait (Come What May) 2015

I'm glad this is included, a wonderful score. Every playschool should have this track as a super method of teaching young children how to count 1,2,3,4....smile

For anyone interested, a PAL DVD of this movie was issued under the title of "The Evacuation" in French with English subs.

I got around to listening to DESERT OF TARTARS, and realized I had sampled it before. Alas, it's not the type of sound that I'm looking for. Too much abrasive stuff, or very static and insistantly aggravating to my poor ol' ears. But it has a coupe of nice cues, including the opening track with the organ. But that's just me. I'm glad it means so much to you, Mathias.

I don’t usually listen to a score from start to finish. I prefer to listen to the melodic parts and skip the rest. Those more ”boring” parts aren’t my type of music either.
