Hi everybody,

this work of love has originally been made for a good friend of mine, since we love doing visual movie quizzes and challenges, guessing movies from screenshots etc.

Here now is the challenge: Can you guess movies scored by Jerry Goldsmith by his main title credit screenshots?!

This first batch contains 11 films from 1963 to 2000... I hope you like it - Guesses welcome!

Great quiz! You might want to number the rest for easy reference.

The second one is The Shadow. Four is Papillion. Five is the Hollow man. Six is Basic instinct. Last one is Chinatown.

This is fun!

4th down is Papillon

I'm gonna take a wild stab at the third from the bottom and say Mulan?

Ooooh! The one with all the triangles in Basic Instinct!

You might want to reconsider 6... :-)

The female lead in 3 is the same actress as Mel Gibson's movie wife who gets stuck under (or rather in) a farming machine...

Most of these I've seen multiple times and/or have in hand on home video. (Two are likely guesses based on a single viewing decades ago.)

1) EXECUTIVE DECISION
2) THE SHADOW
3) RAGGEDY MAN
4) PAPILLON
5) HOLLOW MAN
6) TOTAL RECALL (a guess; saw only on original release)
7) TWILIGHT ZONE - THE MOVIE
8) POLTERGEIST (another guess, based on TV-screen scan lines)
9) MULAN
10) THE LIST OF ADRIAN MESSENGER
11) CHINATOWN

Thanks for bringing this bit of fun to a pandemic day!

afn, I hope I'm not disturbing your thread but I recently made this screenshot for this board. So why not using it again here? smile

I have the DVD of that one, too, so I won't bother adding to my prior list of answers.

There should be a master list containing all of Goldsmith's title cards.

8 is US Marshals for sure, almost thought the starfield one was from a star trek he did.

Ah yes Basic Instinct. Would not have got Raggedy Man. Well done.

That's a TV movie from the early 70s...... right? :-) Let me see... where a political extremist plans to spread stolen nerve gas in a city where a political convention is being held. Government agents are sent to catch him. (imdb)

OK, I cheated a little, forgive me, but I've never come across that one. It's out on DVD? Even as an old TV movie? I didn't know that...!
