During World War II, Holt was a bombardier on a B-29 Superfortress in which he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and a Purple Heart when he was wounded over Tokyo on the last day of the war.
Before his combat tour, Holt was a member of a top secret program, later named Project X-Ray, which was suggested by oral surgeon Dr. Lytle Adams and was personally approved by President Franklin Roosevelt. Project X-Ray would have bombers drop bombs carrying bats with tiny napalm explosives glued to them. The bats would enter Japanese homes and buildings, which were mostly of wooden and paper construction, and the napalm would detonate to devastate Japanese cities.

During World War II, Holt was a bombardier on a B-29 Superfortress in which he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and a Purple Heart when he was wounded over Tokyo on the last day of the war.

Before his combat tour, Holt was the bombardier in a top secret program which was later named Project X-Ray. The photo below shows a test bat with the napalm bomb glued to its body and the bat-carrying bomb itself. Each five foot-long bomb would carry 1,040 bats.
A report on the bat bombs said they would be far superior to standard incendiary bombs that were being dropped on Japanese cities, "It was concluded that X-Ray is an effective weapon. Expressed in another way, the regular bombs would give probably 167 to 400 fires per bomb load where X-Ray would give 3,625 to 4,748 fires." However, Project X-Ray was cancelled because it was felt the atomic bomb would be more effective in achieving mass destruction compared to the bat bombs.

Several Project X-Ray bat bombs accidentally set Carlsbad Army Air Field Auxiliary Air Base, New Mexico on fire.

Ironically, in one of Holt's last movies, he played a military officer battling deadly creatures instead of helping them in THE MONSTER THAT CHALLENGED THE WORLD.

For obvious reason only 0:06-0:44 part of this trailer is watchable.

Nothing against that actor playing Mr. Rourke, but he doesn't have anywhere near the stature/gravitas/je ne sais quoi of Ricardo Montalban. A crucial part of the original show IMO.

He's a decent actor in other things. Is "Roarke" pronounced Rew-rik, like he says it? Or can he just not pronounce his own character's name?

This just looks like other Blumhouse bilge. It'll make a few quid then disappear with everyone forgetting almost everything about it within a few months (probably). Maggie Q is usually the best thing about her films, though. The white guy who arrives on the island reminded me of Nicholas Clay, who played Lancelot in Excalibur.

That’s a shame. I liked Doctor Sleep. Had the whole theatre to myself...

Maybe moviegoers are suffering Stephen King fatigue?

I haven't seen it yet. I thought the book was a satisfying follow up to one of my favourite SK novels, The Shining,

I feel that the movie may suffer because of a need to tie it into the Kubrik film, which was nothing like the book.

RE: Fantasy Island- That looks… horrific. Lucy Hale still looks cute.
RE: Ghostbusters- They could bring back Harold Ramis and I still wouldn’t be interested in this film.

Bill turned down previous attempts, because o the script and that he at one point wanted to be killed off and come back as a ghost. So this better be a fucking damn good script for him to say "Yes" to, otherwise he bullshitting around and waiting for Harold and Elmer to pass away and then saying "Yes", will be sorely unforgivable.

I dunno, he seems kinda moody and eccentric. Or think hes above it all. I'm sure enough $$$ changed his mind.

He has a 1800 number (no, it's true) for people to call the pitch the script. If he returns your call, you're good, if he doesn't...
