Saw the film yesterday. Totally disagree with the previous post (review) which trashed the score. I found it very effective and the main theme ennobling. Forget the negative, cynical review and give the score a try!

I agree with that. And the movie was a nice, unexpected surprise too.
Listening now, and quite enjoying what I'm hearing (so far). It was more Zimmer than I had expected. Quite excited about the movie too; will see it Tuesday morning.
Just read the review and composer's comments and that 'idea' they had about the music/sound design would be a really unique 'thing' if it wasn't for a recent film called Dunkirk that already did that 'thing'.

I like DUNKIRK but..
Did.not like the ' music as sound.effects' approach that was used to emulate planes and natural sounds such as ocean waves. It's something one should leave for ' concept albums'. Leave the sound fx to the sound guys.

I predict Thor is the ONLY person here who likes both FILM and score.
I won't liying if i'm saying is one of the worst scores i've listen.
From a guy who dosen't hate the electronic/atmospheric/soundscapes scores, this one is very weak and forgettable, is more like trying to imitate Dunkirk and the purpose of that score, it was create tension for the movie, this... is not create tension, is imitate sounds of planes without something to grab on.
Honestly, if Horner was still with us, maybe he can create something more entertaining than this, also the main theme is the more close thing to his style.
What hell happen to Kloser, man?, I enjoying a lot his first works like The Day After Tomorrow or Alien vs. Predator, but he start worked with Wander and they can't create something enjoyable. The movie is not bad, but the score isn't one of the best things about it.
I love both the pastoral Americana cues, as well as the rhytmical bits, which -- to me -- are far more interesting than a lot of other ostinato-driven action scores these days.
That theme linked is quite nice. If you can't get John Williams to score your Midway movie, it doesn't hurt to get your guys to sound like him. Agreed. I can hear John Williams throughout the orchestration.
