I was pleased with the new Ghostbusters score remaster from Sony Classical, but Sony’s packager has made up for the discount price with a shoddy CD case. The splndle on the tray wasn’t even gripping the disc.
Where are CD cases of the highest quality to be found online or elsewhere? If your idea of a high-quality CD case is a 50-pack of shoddy slim cases from Amazon, please don’t bother. I’m talking the same quality of cases that a high-end record label would use. Also, please no knockoffs of the La-La Land type double-pak cases. Those cases are good for what they are, but they’re not what I want.

I wasn’t really looking to order masses of CD cases. More like a 10-pack of really good record-label quality CD cases. One of the biggest problems I have is that this “retail sector” promises lots of quality and big batches, but rarely delivers either due to the inevitable shoddiness of materials.
Anyone know a retail shop in Los Angeles that can just sell me an Anal Retentive CD Collector-certified jewel case?
What I’d really love to know is where to get some Japanese quality jewel cases. The Japanese record labels, In my experience, don’t skimp on jewel box quality.

Amoeba Records sells a variety of cases, singles to various clamshell configurations. Quality is good, though not 80s to 90s factory quality. No one sells those any more.
You could go to a thrift store that sells CDs. Buy up a whole shelf of older pop music, then throw away the CDs & inserts to get at the cases.

I think you’re right. I’ll probably have to continue cannibalizing the lesser titles in my existing CD collection if I want Ghostbusters 2019 housed properly.
Though, now that I think on it, I’m not sure the Ghostbusters 2019 score reissue is worth the trouble. This must’ve been a quick-and-dirty manufacture for Sony’s manufacturing agent. The data side of the disc has got slight circular abrasions over some of the track spiral; combined with the substandard spindle, it suggests to me that maybe now is the time to consider going to downloads. The image printing of the goo-covered Ghostbusters on the label side of the disc got more attention than the disc packaging.
