Wow. That's was quick. And I always thought that Youtube blocks videos (with music) only from Russia or some other "unfortunate" countries - I mean, once upon a time I did Bond-related "Guess that tune" game. Of course they blocked it, because I dared to use less than 30 seconds (!!!) of copyrighted material (it was just ONE tune from SEVEN!). At the same time Youtube never bother about posting COMPETE bootleg versions of Die another Day or Who Framed Roger Rabbit... I hate this double standards.
Nooooo!! I wanted to hear that! All I could do on my own is turn the sound down completely on the original audio and play the CD track. Without the sound effects, it is not as convincing but it gives a good idea of how it would have turn out. I find Kamen's original vision for that scene very interesting. Even if I prefer the film version, I don't think that Kamen did a faux pas with his approach. Thanks a lot Mutant for trying to share it, I would have been really happy to experience this.
Congratulations Mutant! Great job! When I was trying to sync that cue a few months ago, I was matching the two orchestra music bursts exactly with the two gun shots but I think the way you did it, just before each gun shot, is much better than mine and makes more sense. That way the music is not buried under the loud shot sounds.

Thanks. It seems he scored around the dialogue and gunshots. I’ll post Powell’s scene later today.

Good Job, but after hearing it against picture IMHO they made the right choice to replace it with the cues that they did end up using.
Thanks Ford. I agree. It’s fascinating watching this but it lacks the intensity of what they went with.
Agreed. It is always difficult to judge a new version when the previous one have be ingrained in our minds for decades (I still can hear the retracked version when Gruber falls), but indeed, the final version had more gusto. Thanks again Mutant!
This is so awesome! Thanks for posting this Mutant, as usual.
It works pretty well but it’s really odd because this score is so understated when Gruber falls, and since the movie doesn’t really have any sound effects for this section it just kind of pulls away any dramatic tension. I think they did the right thing by using the music they tracked in
