In the US in the early 70s, this tune was used on a commercial for perfume or douche or Geritol or something. It is by Brit composer Johnny Pearson.
Was this a hit in Britain? Anyone watching TV in the US in the 70s will most certainly remember it.
As leader of the Johnny Pearson Orchestra, he reached number 8 in the United Kingdom chart in early 1972 with "Sleepy Shores", the theme from the television series Owen, M.D. (1971–73). My favourite piece from him link below.
Thanks all for the videos. I haven't heard many of these. I do have a number of JP tracks on comps, but I don't think I have any albums specifically by him.

I seem to recall that he did various easy listening LP's in the seventies, quite similar stuff to Sleepy Shores and therefore not of great interest to me personally. I think Sleepy Shores did - and probably still does occasionally - crop up on adverts in the UK (no idea about the US).
His library music gets featured on library music compilations from time to time.
Another of his library themes which became well known in the UK (and I think to some extent overseas) was his piece Heavy Action which was used in a long running BBC series called 'Superstars':
On this thread I posted re: Sleepy Shores: ... includes 1 track shown as a K.P.M. Production (tr. B1 Sleepy Shores - which was used as the theme to another TV series Owen M.D. and became a 45rpm hit reaching No.3 in the UK charts!)...

"Heavy Action" later became the theme for "A.B.C. Monday Night Football"
