Well, I love the album, don't hear any clicks, nor do I have any negative issues with the CD at all. I'm still enjoying the hell out of it and I'm eternally grateful to LLL for making it happen.

Just finished listening to this front to back, with headphones. Incredible release! (For the record, I hear the clicks others are talking about but--and I'm one of the pickiest--they are very minor for me and indeed may be in the source. I'm not bothered; not to diminish the concern others have but I'm relieved that this isn't something that's going to keep me up at night. That honour falls to all the scratched discs I'm still receiving brand-new & sealed, with BLACK SUNDAY and THE HAWAIIANS being the latest. As for THE FUGITIVE, like all other LLL titles I have: Absolutely mint with not a single factory scratch on it. Bravo, LLL!)

Finally got around to buying this after watching the movie again and paying close attention to the score. Holy cow I never realized how well it moves the movie along. Love the end credits a lot and can't wait to get this in.

Finally got around to buying this after watching the movie again and paying close attention to the score. Holy cow I never realized how well it moves the movie along. Love the end credits a lot and can't wait to get this in. You won`t regret it. One of the few scores that doesn`t get boring at such a length. I love the elegant jazzy feel to it. It really redifined action scoring in he 90s. One of JNH`s best.

You won`t regret it. One of the few scores that doesn`t get boring at such a length. I love the elegant jazzy feel to it. It really redifined action scoring in he 90s. One of JNH`s best. Oh for sure, for sure. I almost bought this score about 4 months back and it was between this or Bad Boys and I choose the latter. I may come under fire for this, but usually before I buy a score I download it first or youtube it and listen to a couple of tracks and see if I like it. If I do, I order from where ever and delete the computer file when the CD(s) arrive. If I don't like it, well I delete the file anyways and don't order. I don't buy scores just because it has a composers name on them because it's not financially wise in my opinion. In that case I liked it, but I didn't care for it as much as I did Bad Boys, but now I finally got the money for The Fugitive and listening to it in the movie I can't wait for it to get in. The music really helps make some of the action scenes and it's got that classical action vibe too. Makes it feel old fashion in a good way.

Shaun, thanks very much for your info in this thread. I made an editing guide and breakdown here, if people are interested: http://www.jwfan.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5544&p=949899 Despite my thousand complaints about the production of the release, it's still one of my favorite scores and I listen to it constantly (albeit in a modified version, similar to the one fommes links to). Email me, fommes, I'd like to hear your version, too.

Is this the 1960s TV series? Nope. The 90s movie with Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. Great score by James Newton Howard. If a better new edition were produced to address some of the issues with the previous release (which I still cherish), I would probably buy it. Sometimes LLL has really been able to improve on their prior releases (see: Die Hard). Yavar

The film version of helicopter chase which doesn’t segue onto the other cue Also film version of the main titles with the crashing sound effects would be great. They could also add the album version of "It's Over" so you can really recreate the original album like the booklet says. Plus the film version of "It's Over" which is longer than the version on the expanded album. I do agree however that this is a fantastic album.

This is one I missed out on when it was rereleased. I picked up a copy of the Elektra release at a CD Warehouse in Orlando, FL back in the late 90s after seeing the film on TV (personal favorite TLJ role). Watching Jones' and Ford's distinctly different acting styles was what made the film memorable for me but the score stood out for it's heavy Goldsmith vibes--prescient considering US Marshals. The heavy percussion and pulsing brass figures always stood out but after listening to this score many times, I think it's actually the quieter moments that I really like--the sneaky suspenseful strings and clicking blocks on "No Press" and the way the "Main Titles" feel like they keep building suspense without ever really releasing the tension. Good stuff. I remember playing the Wayne Shorter cue on my stereo and my dad commenting on how good it was. I just pulled out my old CD copy and it's still got the little $8.99 sticker from CD Warehouse on it. I have to say, the packaging on the original album may be the worst looking of any in my collection lol. I would definitely upgrade if the chance came around again.
