So we know another composer from final 6 scores-list.
Countdown continue, now we get 5 great scores from 5 (?) great composers.

This is absolute perfection. Never will I find myself filled with a single regret over what wasn't released by FSM in its 16 year history because this was the ONLY title that would have fallen in that category for me if it didn't make it. THANK YOU!!

Let's just say it's Ben-Hur for $59.95 (with every possible recorded take imaginable, plus the 3 albums in stereo from tape sources) but SHHHHHHHH!!! if you guys bug SAE before it's announced (2 weeks or so) I'm in deep doodoo.

Lukas

This is very cool.
And I hope that everyone responds to this repeats his direct message so that it is in everyone's face NOT to bother SAE until announced.

The next two weeks should see a large volume of "Is it safe?" posts. big grin (even from those who didn't get "Marathon Man"!)

lukas, you are truly amazing.

You have become the victor and hero to these people.

They look to you, their one true god.

This important news is a little bit hidden away. Most people probably have no idea that this thread has developed to contain such a revelation. I'd start a new thread, but better Lukas should do that as soon as possible – such a fantastic release deserves a proper announcement from the outset, rather than the news just dribbling out here and there.

Sigerson,

"You have become the victor and hero to these people.
They look to you, their one true god!"

What a cool response! The lines spoken by Pontius Pilate relate to Mr. Kendall perfecxtly.
I think Frank Thring gave one of the best performances in "Ben Hur" as Pilate.

Can't wait for thias release!

FSM is close to the end of its days, but shows defiance till the end:

FSM: Triumph complete, fans. The race won, the 5-disc set complete.

Fan: I see no 5-disc set.

FSM: What do you think you see? There's enough of a label still left here for you to call great.

Fan: What has become of the greatest-ever Rozsa score?

FSM: Look for it... at SAE... if you have some patience.

Fan: Eaah!

FSM: It goes on. It goes on Fans... the race is not... over.

Damnit, Lukas - why must you end your label? This sucks.

Okay since someone would do it eventually and I would like the "Keep off SAE's back" idea to be emphasized, I went ahead and did it.

Please tell me it'll have end credits with and without Leonard Nimoy's dialogue, PLEASE!!!

Seriously, thank you in advance for such a lofty project (as was each and every project you undertook for the FSM Label/s).

Great news! Thank you, Lukas. For some of us, this is the most awaited FSM release of all!

Well, if the new release is Ben-Hur, maybe the specific cue notes will clarify that. To my ears, that transition sounds composed rather than the work of an editor. But it would be interesting to know for sure.

Agreed. This clearly sounds composed. There's no evidence of an editor's hand, and it's so typical of Rozsa's dramaturgical genius. Certainly a highlight of a landmark score.

News of this 5-CD set has certainly made my day. FSM has found a way to go out on the biggest bang of them all. smile
