Somewhat long for a "Song Of The Day", but...

It has the power to return one to sanity.

"(Keep Feeling) Fascination"- The Human League

New Wave. I miss that. It might be time to bump Ye Olde Second British Invasion thread.

The Cardigans- "Lovefool"

For some unknown reason, I thought of this relic from the mid 1990s(?), and it makes me sad that it did.

The '90s seem so long ago...for better or worse.

Bertie Higgins- "Key Largo"

Growing up in South Florida, I thought this song was just a regional hit, but apparently it was popular nationwide.

Genesis: "Ripples"

If you're going through a breakup, songs like these either help you or kill you.

Echo and the Bunnymen- "The Cutter"

Echo and the Bunnymen are the Dominic Frontiere of New Wave music for me, since they occupied a time and place and composed a form of music that I "should" love, but for various reasons they haven't caught on with me.

Had the song in my head all morning. Then I went on YouTube and played it. I suppose one of the various reasons I never got into this group is that I think Ian McCullough is a terrible vocalist.

I think Echo & The Bunnymen are great actually, Ian McCulloch too.

Anyway, heard this on the radio today. Quite topical, with the 50th anniversary talk and all...
