So I'm left with a feeling of dull alarm. With me, John, it's a lingering watchfulness that triggers at certain moments: Walking around a blind corner? Take a few extra steps wide of it, so I can see better if someone's coming. Getting up on the sidewalk on the bicycle? Look both ways for people, and gauge if they will reach me before I can park the bike and bolt. Going through a doorway, open or closed? Stop, and listen to see if there is anyone on the other side first. Wait for them to pass. Buying something? Check if the clerk is wearing gloves to handle my merchandise.

Infuriating and saddening to think how those thousands of morons will now be accelerating the spread of the virus among their innocent children, parents, grandparents and any unsuspecting person in their indirect group of contacts. The stupidity is everywhere, Graham*. Just like the virus. *https://gimletmedia.com/shows/reply-all/v4hm2z

Looking forward to the weekend is a very positive sign, with all those movies and CDs to explore! For some it might be a walk in the hills. Oh, my, but yes. I found a copy of THE TWO TOWERS by the curb, and watched it. It was so, so, nice to escape to another place, to get absorbed by another world.

I was convinced as long as I have my job which is challenging and steady, I would be able to deal with the isolation of this. No, that doesn't work. I am sick of doing the same sh$% every day in spite of the change and challenge. Ditto, Ed. For me it has been working around too few people since the change. Every so often now, I have to seek someone out and converse, to use a different part of my brain.

Also, I manage to meet up with friends or colleagues for lunch as often as I can. So far, I've warded off going all Omega Man... although now that I think of it...

I've been cutting my own hair for a few months now. At about every four weeks. Not doing too bad, no one noticed last week. I’ve been cutting my own hair for the past 30 years. People may think “Looks like it” but no one has said that to my face After a previous cut someone in work said it was the best one in thirty years. Doesn't say much for my (ex) barber.

We got our first confirmed case of Covid in my ALF and its a staff member. Thankfully my results remain negative. We now have to have full PPE gear on for our entire shift. You have no idea how restrictive and hot it is. An essential worker. Helping our most vulnerable. Paid piddly wages. (And even with hazard pay, 105% of piddly is still piddly)
