how seriously will a request be considered ? I dont want to have to waste my time putting cues I like up for a slim chance. Extremely seriously! As Indy said: "hey...it's me." Lk okay ...who is indy and does that mean any cue I pick will be put on the set? I mean If I say for example ...I wish I could have the entire score from the episode Timescape TNG season 6 and season 7 ENERGENCE ...will ya do that? That was just a little Indiana Jones reference, to mix franchises. I cannot guarantee that we will include everything that is suggested but we are closely paying attention and will do our best! Lukas

I think Aktuh and Maylota with Worf's vocals from "Unification II" would be awesome! I've always had a soft spot for Klingon opera.

Oh! Film version of "Inner Workings" from TMP with the wind machine! I've made my own edits to get a film version of The Meld (with the blaster beam FX at the end) mixed into A Good Start. Same with getting the LP version of Battle in the Mutara Nebula using (mostly) the new CD mix. But I don't know if there would be any obsessives interested in either of those. But, y'know, TWOK Epilogue / End Title sans voice over. Right?

"I think Aktuh and Maylota with Worf's vocals from "Unification II" would be awesome! I've always had a soft spot for Klingon opera." Oh, that reminds me- the Klingon drinking song in DS9: Way of the Warrior, Pt. 1. Surprisingly catchy. If there were a collection of sung-songs, I'd nominate that, and the Worf birthday song from TNG: Parallels. For that matter, if anyone else is up for Klingon songs (not a particular priority for me; like I said, as long as the Star Trek IV prologue and the Secret of Vulcan Fury get consideration, I'm good- the rest is just brainstorming), there is the Doctor/Seven rendition from VOY: Barge of the Dead, the Klingon festival from TNG: Firstborn, the song ending DS9: Soldiers of the Empire... Like I said, not biggies for me, but if an earlier suggestion can jog my memory, maybe this will jog someone else's... Either way, unless one of the discs was a Klingon Language Songs cul-de-sac (which is getting BEYOND obscure), these may not have a place. But, they bear mentioning just in case. :-)

Personally, if this set is celebrating the entire franchise, I'd say the film version of the Epilogue and End Credits from Star Trek II without the narration would make a nice cap for the end of the CD. I love it with the narration from the late great Leonard Nimoy, and the Star Trek II CD from FSM/Retrograde is IMHO perfect, but this would be an amazing way to pay tribute to James Horner's breakout score. As for material left off of the movie CD releases completely: Spock to Spock from Star Trek Into Darkness comes to mind, and perhaps "Awasoruk Jam" from Star Trek (2009). I know, those are Varese Sarabande. Another off-the-wall idea might be to release some sound effects from the classic Star Trek movies. Those sound effects are iconic, instantly recognizable, and with the exception of "Reel Hollywood Sound Effects" on GNP, unreleased. Broadly speaking, anything that celebrates the amazing works, music or otherwise, that has buried itself into our collective consciousness and hearts for 50 years and beyond, is humbly appreciated.

These are probably lame requests, but: The film version of the Market Street cue from STVI: TVH. Intrada couldn't find it, but could something be worked from the stems? And the lamer one that will just have people looking funny at me: STV: TFF, cue: "Open the Gates" When the La La Land Records release came out, the metronome ticking away with the piece, which to me fits in kind of nicely, was gone -- no shock, I kind of expected that. What I didn't expect is that it was also removed from the original album presentation on CD2. Plus, and this is my opinion, it's just missing the "oomph", especially the crashing notes at the end. As I recall, Roger said the STIV prologue was nothing more than an edit job of the alternate cues which were on the Intrada release. I forget whom said it, but the little bit in that Generations cue, was not by McCarthy, but created after-the-fact editorially by somebody.

Hi Gang: I really appreciate and enjoy all the requests. There is so much great stuff to choose from! The input has been more than I expected and just as a practical matter, we won't be able to fulfill EVERY request—but we should be able to satisfy many if not most of them. Keep in mind that anything involving the feature films, vocals, or trailer music represents extra licensing work and $$$, compared to straight-out television score cues, so we have to be judicious in deciding what to go after. Personally, I'm not inclined to go about creating alternate edits of things already released except for in special cases. We will keep this thread open for weeks if not a few months while we work on Voyager, and then rest assured we'll be going through it (as well as threads on a couple of Star Trek sites) and making spreadsheets of all the requests. I understand where you're coming from, I really do, but speaking only for myself, I'd be much more inclined to buy this set if there were at least a couple movie alternates on it. The Trek movie scores do a lot more for me personally than most of the Berman era TV stuff, Ron Jones aside. Just spitballing here, but maybe the movie stuff could make a separate release entirely! Still, this set is a really neat idea! Even if no movie stuff ends up on it, I applaud LLL, Lukas, Paramount and everyone involved for making it and the entire Trek score renaissance happen!
