Dead Again is a blind buy since I've never seen the movie, but I liked what I heard from the samples and can't beat the price.

1. If you can find the old DVD edition or find it on some streaming service, definitely give it a watch! Fantastic performances from the main cast (Kenneth Branagh, Emma Thompson, Derek Jacobi, and Andy Garcia), and it's one of those movies...you don't really see movies like this anymore.

2. Even without having the visuals to back it up, Patrick Doyle's score is stellar! At times majestic. Other times romantic. And a healthy dose of suspense thrown in for good measure.

My two cents ... HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE is the greatest ghost story score since THE CHANGELING and a total steal at $5.00...

Ooooh. GRAVEYARD SHIFT is a nostalgic favourite of mine. The film, that is. I can't remember anything of the score. But I had a track on one of those old Stepen King compilations. I don't think it ever had a full soundtrack release, though?

The track on the King compilation was from the trailer. Composed by John Beal.

There has not been a soundtrack release.

Marinelli (and Banks) used to work with Moroder, so this is interesting. The film.is on youtube. The main titles is kind of ambient with female voice, the end title is a bizarre rhythmic theme with dialogue from the film sampled over the music. Musicians on the score feature Beth Andersen, Vinnie Colauita, Luis Conte, Dean Parks and Carmen Twillie.

Yes Marinelli and Banks worked with Giorgio Moroder on OVER THE TOP 1987 movie!
So this is very interesting!!!

Marinelli worked with Moroder on lots of projects between 1982 and 1992.

Interestingly, Banks more or less left film music behind after Graveyard Shift.

I wish some label would release Searle's The Haunting. That's amazing

Woot! My F13th already shipped! Pretty sure I got my order in with the autographed copies.
I also pulled the trigger on Graveyard Shift. Watching it again on Prime reminded me just how damn effective that score is. Very atmospheric and dark. It reminded me of Exorcist III. Boy I wish Lalaland could put that one out. 1990 was a decent year for these types of subtle, visceral hybrid electronic/acoustic scores that have sorta gone out of style.

Great batch, Lala. I’m broke, but now I have some great tunes to look forward to.

I think we all tried, even Lukas did in the FSM days. It's out there somewhere, as this had to come from something: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ficPd21P4U8&ab_channel=OST%26Covers%26so

I wasn’t aware until now that the Friday the 13th New Blood soundtrack isn’t the films true soundtrack.

I ordered this one from another label.

Was excited to add this next to my original Friday the 13th CD Box Set but now I will be canceling by my order.

So, good news then! Thanks.

How much synth is in KK2? I haven't seen the film in many years and don't remember much of the music. The samples are promising but I am not a fan of Conti's synths so much in The Right Stuff. How prominent are they here?

"How much synth..."
--------------------
Not much.
It's 90% orchestral, the way I remember it.
Lots of exotic Asian percussion, but that's all acoustic too (I think).
He does add some synths to certain tracks (The Storm) and the two tracks off the old LP are synth redo's of the orchestral film tracks (again...I think), but overall, it's orchestral in the main.
And fr!ggin brilliant.

What an utterly petty comment.

Indeed. And as I cannot see that comment in question, I can picture which of my ignore list people it was.

Well, it's not the complete film version of the soundtrack, but it is a pretty great representation of the score, and still a very nice F13 release. I don't want to discourage anyone from picking up the release, because it sounds really good and is certainly a good buy and a welcome addition to the box set. I just want people to be aware that it's not the complete film versions and if you already have the Waxworks release there's no need to buy this one.

Is it worth double dipping on Karate Kid II? Anything significantly added to the LLL release?
I already have the Varese version.
