That is literally the BEST Bill Conti score. Blood In Blood Out is second.

Yay for Karate Kid 2. Wonder if this means LLL will also do Karate Kid 3 & 4 (IIRC, Varese released the first three separately but the 4th was only available in their boxset)

Boo for no X-Files wink Hopefully November/Black Friday.

Yay for F13

Have no knowledge of Boys, but it's Lennertz so will definitely be checking out some samples.

Ooooh. GRAVEYARD SHIFT is a nostalgic favourite of mine. The film, that is. I can't remember anything of the score. But I had a track on one of those old Stepen King compilations. I don't think it ever had a full soundtrack release, though?

Looks good - I wonder if the new KARATE KID - PART II will feature GLORY OF LOVE by Peter Cetera this time.

Is that a synth score? I also love the film but can't remember the score to save my life. Something tells me it was a combo of synth and orchestral but I could be confusing that with something else.

I can't remember. But aren't Marinelli and Banks those YOUNG GUNS guys? So perhaps something like that - rock guitars in a horror style? We'll find out in due time. I doubt the score is anything for me; I just had an instant nostalgic reaction when I saw the film title.

I had the same response when I saw it. It's definitely not a title I ever expected to see released. Curious to hear the samples. Part of me wants to buy it for nostalgic reasons as well as to show support for these unexpected titles

Indeed. It brings back memories of our weekly trips to the local video store in the early 90s, set on watching as many Stephen King films as possible, and then finding the GRAVEYARD SHIFT VHS there - somewhere between MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE and LAWNMOWER MAN or whatever. Good times!

GRAVEYARD SHIFT is one of the underrated creature features of that era. I'll be checking this out for sure.

I have the KARATE KID box set but I bought LLL's redo of the first one and I'll probably get this one too. Definitely my favorite of the series. Plus, I can't really keep my KK fanboy license (ahem, https://kkreflections.tumblr.com/) if I don't.

YES! THE KARATE KID PART II is one of my all time favorite scores, I love it! I wonder if it will include the song TWO LOOKING AT ONE and the two Conti tracks from the songtrack album? But either way I'm very excited for this one. Thanks La La Land!smile

You can listen to it on many digital outlets. Its rocky mixed with some orchestra moments.

I'll have to check out the tracklist for The Karate Kid Part II if it's worth double dipping like part 1. Looking forward to the Friday The 13th Part VII album. Even though it looks like they're including the tracked in music from Manfredini's previous Friday The 13th scores, which happened because he didn't return for part VII.

Great news! When I bought the score to the first Karate Kid I knew I needed the second to compliment it, but I gave up after seeing aftermarket prices of an older release. So this is a very pleasant surprise. Fingers crossed it includes "The Glory Of Love".

I wonder if KKII will include that Obon Dance music before the final fight. I loved that stuff!

The track on the King compilation was from the trailer. Composed by John Beal.

There has not been a soundtrack release.

Marinelli (and Banks) used to work with Moroder, so this is interesting. The film.is on youtube. The main titles is kind of ambient with female voice, the end title is a bizarre rhythmic theme with dialogue from the film sampled over the music. Musicians on the score feature Beth Andersen, Vinnie Colauita, Luis Conte, Dean Parks and Carmen Twillie.
