Ordered last night when it went live on the site. I am very excited.

Thank you Intrada!

Both songs were on the Morgan Creek Records soundtrack album.

Thanks! So this is the only way to get Wild Time, right?

I can see the difficulty of purchasing license to the biggest Bryan Adams single of all time. I wonder how many fans of Bryan Adams really know that Kamen was really responsible for that hit song? Film music fans do or the fact that Bryan Adams fans don’t give a darn. Now when I hear the Bryan Adams song, All I hear is the biggest cliche ballads of all time.

So it makes me wonder, would this iconic score be so popular without the Bryan Adams single to help it out? Maybe it could of been another Braveheart or Gladiator without the pop songs.

Gladiator and Braveheart are more popular scores than Prince of Thieves though.

This is real tough one. It mentions that the album program has 'unique edits' or whatever, but how unique?
But between alternates and the stuff found there's, what, ~53 minutes of unreleased music?
And while I'm sure the price would have been the same, and the case size the same (so it's less relevant here) it actually could have easily fit on three CDs.

Funny how I went from 'eh this score isn't so hot' before the last expansion came out to pondering if I would break my 'no buying a redundant album program' of a 4 CD set....

Why do you keep trashing this project, especially the disc count? Yeah, it could fit on 3 CDs technically but extras plus OST wouldn't fit on just one. So some extras would have to spill back to the second disc or be omitted. They're charging a 3-disc price so who cares? The sound is improved, tracks have been found, and extras that were left off the first release have been included (what, there's always a perfect amount of extras to round out that second disc?).

The only drawback I can see is that, unfortunately, "Marriage Plans/Robin's Alive" could not be located. Roger confirmed this on the Intrada board.

Yeah, he’s really trashing this project. Get real. If this is trashing then your own comments are even worse.

Without reading every post how much new score is on disc 1 and 2?

To give an idea of how much more music the running times for the 2 cd set were 63:03/47:26
and the new release is 70:59/61:07

Isn't there still a bunch of music written by others that helped get this written on time?

For those of you who know the original album well, are there many standout moments in this complete release? If so, what in particular? Considering a purchase.

I don't think it's a case of the labels not wanting to do Highlander. It's a rights issue that's making this almost impossible if I remember correctly.

"Isn't there still a bunch of music written by others that helped get this written on time?"
--------------------------
Yeah maybe...and No.
The way I heard it, the time crunch/crazy deadlines forced Kamen to sketch some cues and hand over some extra writing/orchestrating to his team, to match changing edits and so they could all finish it on time.
No different to similar actions undertaken on countless other films (from Star Trek The Motion Picture to Horner's Zorro sequel...with many more besides).
And it all sounds like pure Michael Kamen style to me.
So it's likely all that music you refer to is incorporated into the tracks made available previously.

Didn’t know about JH getting help on Zorro? Any idea who helped, how much and what cues?

Hi Brendon, I remember reading that Conrad Pope worked on some cues in Zorro 2, after Horner got busy elsewhere.
The lengthy 8-10 minute track near the end is apparently Pope writing in that Horner style and using JH thematic material and guidance.
I imagine it's not unlike those cues from A FAR OFF PLACE, PAGEMASTER & WE'RE BACK that were ghost/co-written by some of his orchestrators.

Thanks Kev, appreciate the info. Same scenario as the Sail Barge Assault from Jedi.
