Accused me of being a thief several years ago, when we were discussing a re-recording of a KING OF KINGS. All I did was suggest a way of raising the funds for it!!

I'm sure many here already knew this and I am just way behind the times, but I recently learned the "Willow's Theme" track on the old OST album is not a unique recording, but just edited pieces of the end credits - the same exact music that will be heard 2 tracks later. OST 6 Willow's Theme 0:00-2:44 = OST 8 Willow The Sorcerer 7:33-10:16 2:44-2:45 = OST 8 Willow The Sorcerer 7:33-7:34 again 2:45-3:08 = OST 8 Willow The Sorcerer 8:15-8:38 again 3:08-end = OST 8 Willow The Sorcerer 10:42-11:27 That is absolutely fascinating. I did not know. Thank you for posting this LeBlanc Well, shoot! In all the 34 years I had no idea. Always assumed it was a complete take. The edit is incredible. Especially the 7:33-7:34 one. So seamless. By the way, does anyone else remember the music video of Willow's Theme that aired on MTV? It was a montage, intercutting a session with Homer conducting the London Symphony and scenes from the movie. I'd only saw it once in 1988 and found it odd, cause when else did I see something like that on MTV? Been looking for that to show up on YouTube for years now.

Its not that I don't believe it - because I do, people know way more about this stuff than I ever will - but after all these years, I still don't hear any edits. It stands as whole and single thing to my ears. Absolutely wild.
Oh man, I find the 1988-era analog edits incredibly obvious now that I know they're there. Try listening with headphones. Now comes the question: Why was it stitched together instead of recorded as one thing? It can't be musical budget. I assume it has something to do with a LP track list and they made some sort of mistake in track order?
Did Horner record many album-specific tracks, especially in that era? Maybe he felt he was hired to score the movie, so spent all his effort on the 117 minutes of music required for that job. As for why he had someone assemble a 4 minute cut-down of the end credits to be its own track on the original score album, I guess he thought it enhanced the album experience being there. But it would have been nice if instead of that track, we got Death Dogs + Arrival At Snow Camp or something!

I was chewing over whether or not I should order this before we go on our long-weekend trip, and I guess I overchewed, lol. Out of stock already! Hopefully it'll be back in stock soon.
