Thanks — I see it is a glitch with my own download. I’m getting pretty fed up with Apple these days.

Well, it's already five episodes of Mandalorian and it's time to say that I really love both the series and music.

Though the score in the first episode was something completly different that everyone is expected from the Star Wars music, but after listening it separatly and during the watch I think that this new sound showing us a new side of this universe as well as the series. And honestly now I don't think that classical orchestral score could be more fitted than the muisc that Goransson creates.

This isn't a scifi fantasy or space opera like the rest of the movies and shows, this is something different, something grittier, atmospheric. This here is a space western, something that Star Wars has almost never touched, and they pulled it off fantastically. Really can't wait for the new episdoes and music.

And for those, who don't like it and want more traditional Star Wars sound - Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order game soundtrack is for you. Gordy Haab and Stephen Barton did a really good work with Williams classical themes and creates a lot of new greate music. There is still no release date but I hope it'll happens in a few months or earlyer.

This series almost feels like webisodes instead of a bona fide television series. Episode 5 was the weakest thus far. Almost Star Wars Christmas Special cringe. Especially the docking bay lady. The script seamed to be written for preteens.

Would it feel like a television show if it had commercial breaks?

I downloaded the latest Chapter 5 album from the iTunes Store on my phone and it appears to be missing the second track called “Bright Eyes.” Did anyone else have this problem?

Delete the album and try redownloading. For some reason, the first day or two of release did not include track 2, but it's there now.

So consistent with Star Wars as a whole then! Pretty good!

As Han once said, "It might!" No, the dialog is very basic. Just a bunch of obvious one liners strung together. There's usually only two characters interacting at one time on screen, other than a few action scenes. In the last episode Mos Eisley Cantina looked almost deserted. Wheres all the extras for a 10 million per episode budget??? I know a bunch of you like the score but it sounds so minimalist and basic. Photography feels flat and void of any depth. The whole production feels "small". I'm sure this series somehow ties into ROS which makes it as much a promotional piece for the upcoming film.

Did you ever consider that the cantina was empty on purpose, you know, for actual story reasons?

And you should also include the classic trilogy as well. Star Wars has always been aimed at young people, not to pander, but to help inform and guide. So says George Lucas himself. And this isn't a criticism, this doesn't minimize the franchise at all, but it's the appropriate context through which to view it all. If you're not able to see this, then you've missed the point.

I would say the young and young at heart. It is after all a space fantasy. But it was never intended to be a "kids" film much less for preteens. Two burnt smoking corpses and scenes of torture says otherwise.

Well, "Star Wars: Rebels", while made for a kid audience but writing for older folks as well, had deaths, beheadings, plenty of attempted murder, and general violence.

Its a cartoon geared towards kids and adult Star Wars fans. Still a little different from burning flesh and pools of blood we saw in the OT.

Just when I was really getting into these scores along comes Chapter 6, and all I can say is the music sounds like hot garbage. Hoping Chapters 7 and 8 are more orchestral...

Star Wars from the beginning and entirely by design is a Mythological Parable aimed directly at preteens. Twelve year olds to be exact.
George is on record quite extensively about his motives in creating an old fashioned adventure story that taught kids values and morals.

It's great! The show IS a western basically, so this trailer makes sense. And yes, great choice of music! smile

And on the flip side, people outside of this very insulated forum think the music for The Mandalorian is spot on in each episode.

Goransson is doing fine work. Not everything needs to be orchestral all the time.

People outside this forum keep seeing Michael Bay films, Saw sequels, Disney live-action remakes, and things like "Trolls" and "Emoji".
