Well, the film itself is even worse, with Waxman’s score being its only saving grace. It’s little wonder that Paul Newman essentially disowned the film (his debut) and tried to keep people from watching it. And yes, the man on the cover is supposed to be Newman’s character in the film (not a very good artistic impression, I must admit).
LotG, which I'd been enthusiastic to order and explore, turned out to be a mostly taxing listen for me. The LiS set was another I was excited to get, and one I never feel like revisiting.
FOMO got the best of me though, so I grudgingly ordered VttBotS as the last copies dwindle down.
Ripped the first disc this morning and have listened to it twice already.
I'm enjoying this set so much more than the previous two IA shows. A pleasant surprise for change.
