From about 1993-2010 FILMUS-L was a major internet film music discussion site. No pretty pictures but some great (and heated) discussions on film music featuring most of the same arguments as have appeared in FSM over the years. Many of the current FSM posters also appeared on FILMUS-L as well. It's a good source for arcane film music answers and sometime vitriolic debates.
For everyone who found the link at the Bernard Herrmann Society non-functional for many months, I'm happy to inform you that "filmus-l archives" are back up and running.
I remember when this was around. However, I never posted anything myself. Film Score Monthly was still the first place I discussed film music online -- back in 1998.
Interesting. I always find it fun especially in light of the recent expansions/reissues trend to see what people thought of the original albums and this board's search engine doesn't always comply. I'm sure there are some insightful threads to be found on this older board.
Edit: so far I've found some funny threads discussing the emergence of CDR's and MP3 and lots of vinyl vs CD threads.
