This has probably been done lots of times, but I've never shared it. My favorite music from an action scene in a movie and one of my favorites tracks from a score is "Desrt Chase" from Raiders of the Lost Ark. This is the scene where Indiana Jones is fighting the Nazis when they are driving the convoy of trucks, one of which carries the Ark. The score, of course , is by John Williams. What is your favorite music and action scene combo?
Actually it is source music, not an original score. The first attack scene in the cemetary , NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD-68- Very exciting and really gets the ball rolling.
The whole snowspeeder/imperial walker action sequence from Empire. One of the best action sequences ever in film history, with an equally impressive score.
Not entirely sure if it counts as an action scene, but for me it's the train chase/Grand Central finale of Carlito's Way. It's a tense and exciting scene, perfectly scored by Patrick Doyle

Oh my God, absolutely this. I love how Doyle completely nails the 70's sound using a smaller orchestra and the kick drum.
It may be really more of a stealth scene than action, I love the opening sequence of MIDWAY. Even though the action was recycled from THIRTY SECONDS OVER TOKYO, the timing of the fade-in, the sounds of the engines of the B-25’s starting and revving up and the matching of Williams’ music to the bombing run was the best part of the movie for me.

Ah, you beat me to it! Agreed wholeheartedly. I would add the Scherzo for Motorcycle and Orchestra from INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE. Makes a wonderful standalone piece as well.
