Does anybody know what the music is in the trailer for Body Double? It's not from the movie. I always thought it was from Body Heat, but I can't find a track that sounds exactly like that one. Maybe it's just very reminiscent.
I don't know your answer. But this reminded me how well made trailers can be. This one invites & has room for imagination. It is sensual and references Saul Bass style trailers for Hitchcocks movies. Did they still make decent trailers back in '84? Or is it because it is from a DePalma movie? I remember an innovative trailer for Femme Fatale with the whole film sped up to 2 minutes. That one was good, too.
It does seem to be strongly informed by the beginning of the cue "I'm Weak" from John Barry's score for "Body Heat," albeit combined with the style of the eventual composer for "Body Double," Pino Donaggio.
