No idea, but assuming it wasn't written for the commercial, I'd be curious what context it was used in originally. It sounds very melancholy, yet the video transforms the music into something else, almost resolute and proud. The power of the marriage of music and image is a pretty cool thing.

But yeah for those interested, this is a commerical for the start of the new season in the English Premier League. I'm from Iceland and one of the biggest teams in Europe just bought an Icelandic player who is featured in this ad. Considering our small population, that is an incredible accomplishment.
The commerical includes old home video of him 6 years old practicing and footage of him making it in the big stage in the european football world. Inspiriational stuff.

The piece has a Zimmer-type sound to it. The ad seems to have an Icelandic origin and one composer in the Zimmer stable, Atli Orvasson, is Icelandic. He's probably the composer here.
