At its worst it was pretty darn awful, maybe worse than any other Trek series, although there were some DS9 that were cures for insomnia. But at it's best, such as most of the two parts - like Year of Hell, it was extremely good. The production quality on the show was extremely high, the sets had a solidity. The first season is not that good, and the second is only slightly better, but once you get into the third season the show starts to hum. (Though the final episode of the series was a HUGE anticlimax letdown!) I miss VOYAGER. It was my favorite of all the modern Star Trek series, mostly because my favorite episodes of TOS are the "ship bound" ones. (Star Trek fans will know what I mean by that.) Also, Seven of Nine was great eye candy, though honestly Jeri Ryan's skills as a thespian left much to be desired -- not that that's what I was desiring with her! (Check her out in season 2 of BOSCH on Amazon Prime. Older, but still very watchable, and better as a thespian.) And of course it opened with the best main theme of all the Star Trek shows, including TOS. Just to see Jerry Goldsmith's name in the opening credits of every episode was a kick I never got tired of. I haven't gotten into revisiting the series much on Netflix, though, because it hasn't been remastered in HD -- and hopefully it will be -- but watching it on Netflix is a blurry mess. 480i is just too last century for me now.

Well .I just started on this.... it seems that i am going to have to suffer through another series of Holodecks and holographic people who can interact with people. Hey, idiots, holograms are projections of LIGHT, not SOLID beings. Oh well, i'll give s.1 a fair trial anyway As I recall, the show got a LOT better when Jeri Ryan came on as Seven of Nine. She starts with the final episode of S3. She replaces the mousey Kes, and the change could not be more welcome. Seven of Nine reinvigorated the series and saved it, plain and simple. So if you don't like the show, consider skipping ahead to the Jeri Ryan years. Regarding 24th century holograms, they interact as solids because they're a combination of light and force fields.

I'm rediscovering Star Trek Voyager on Netflix. It's been quite a few years since I last watched it. I find it alot more enjoyable than the recent Trek interpretations. Is there a way to deinterlace on Netflix? I tried watching VOY on Netflix and the interlacing was so horrible it was practically unwatchable. Make sure you watch it in the standard 1:33 ratio and Dolby Surround

Another problem with the whole "Going home" premise is that you know that as long as the show is running, the crew will never, ever get back home no matter what means of improved travel they stumble across. Something will always happen that will prevent the crew from getting home ...... EXACTLY!!!!!! think of it as THE TIME TUNNEL crossed with GILLIGAN'S ISLAND brm

In his new book, Star Trek VFX artist Dan Curry says this about the Voyager title sequence: "Jerry's music lent an uplifting grandeur to the imagery, and conveyed the spirit of human exploration. To this day I still feel a thrill when I hear his beautiful theme." https://amzn.to/37i17Up
