Absolutely gorgeous score and I really like the track "Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow", hope some day any label can release the full score smile

Has it been discussed anywhere why this score wasn't nominated for an Oscar in 1969, if there is a specific reason? Did the score not have the same impact then as it does now?

There were plenty of good scores in 1968 to choose from. The Oscar nominees were:

John Barry – The Lion in Winter
Jerry Goldsmith – Planet of the Apes
Michel Legrand – The Thomas Crown Affair
Alex North – The Shoes of the Fisherman
Lalo Schifrin – The Fox

Depending upon one's tastes, one could easily add:

Nino Rota - Romeo and Juliet
Jerry Goldsmith - Bandolero!
Ennio Morricone - The Big Gundown
Bernard Herrmann - The Bride Wore Black
Leonard Rosenman - Hellfighters
Michel Legrand - Ice Station Zebra
John Barry - Petulia
Krzysztof Komeda - Rosemary's Baby
Elmer Bernstein - The Scalphunters
Marvin Hamlisch - The Swimmer
