I love this score, but I can't seem to find any releases anywhere... all I came accross was an Amazon CDR copy, can anyone fill me in of that a bit more?

Also, I read on a review on amazon.co.uk that there is 2 versions of the soundtrack... is this true. I'm more after the full score, but if I can get all the songs too... that would be great.

Please can anyone one help me out?

Cheers guys

You mean this?

I was originally released as a pressed CD by Milan. I hadn't realised Amazon was now running off CD-Rs.

That's the one. So there WAS an official release? What's with the CDRs? I don't like that at all... it's just a cheep copy then, no?

I'm guessing so, yes. Odd.

Um, unless you're allergic to used CDs, you can easily just buy a pressed copy from one of the other sellers on Amazon.

Just done a bit more research.

It seems there are 2 versions. The amazon "score only" and one with songs... I'm not sure as to whether the one with the songs on it, also has the full score included... can anyone confirm this for me please?

Thanks again :-)

Which ones are selling the officially pressed ones? They don't list as to whether they're CDR or not. Maybe I've missed something :-)

Just click the link displayed as 12 Used. There are people selling the original pressed Milan CD for $9.00. This CD is not difficult to obtain.

Thanks a million for the link, but I'm still not sure as to how tell that they are selling the official release and not just selling the CDR.

The note on the page says this: CD-R Note: This product is manufactured on demand when ordered from Amazon.com.

This means that it's a CD-R if you order it directly through Amazon by adding it to your cart. But if you click the 12 used link, you get a list of people selling the original CD. It is unlikely that they are selling CD-Rs. They are most likely the original Milan CD. If you want to be sure, all you have to do is write to any or all of the sellers and ask if they are selling the CD-R or the Milan pressed CD. They'll tell you, and then you'll know who to order from.

Make sense?

P.S.: You could also post an ad on our Trading Post to see if anybody here has the original Milan for sale.

Clear as a bell mate... thanks a million for that info. I just want to be sure. I'll check it out.

Thanks again.

How about the 2 versions thing... are 2 and do both have the full score included. The europeane one has songs, but not sure about the score... maybe there's only a small bit of the score one there?

Just to define this properly, the CD-R version is every bit as official as the pressed CD. It's just not a pressed CD. Labels go to this on-demand model for CDs that they cannot afford to keep in stock, but which may still sell from time to time. No inventory to store, it's just made to order. Aside from the medium, the CD and CD-R should be identical.

I wasn't aware of 2 versions until today! The version I have is the original Milan CD released in 1994. It is all score. Here is the listing:

Milan Records 35713-2
Country
United States
Format
CD
Release Date
1-Dec-1994
UPN
7-3138-35713-2-9

Track listing

1. Let's Go
2. Believing is Seeing
3. The Sash Completes the Ensemble
4. Flight
5. Weightless
6. Away to the Window
7. The Bells of Christmas
8. Listen
9. Goodnight, goodnight, don't forget the fire Extinguisher
10. Visitation
11. Rose Suchak Ladder
12. The List
13. Elves With Attitude
14. Someone in Wrapping
15. Near Capture
16. Comfort and Joy
17. Not Over Any Oceans
18. Christmas Will Return

According to soundtrackcollector.com, there was also a French CD from Milan that included some Christmas songs:

The CDs for sale at Amazon are probably the U.S. CDs like I have, but again, you could write to the sellers and find out.

Interesting! Cheers :-)

I was just thrown off with the CDR part. I would, however, prefer an original official release over something like this. Also, I would be pretty cheesed off if I'd bought the CDR version and then found out that an expanded version was to come out... I'd much prefer knowing that I had at least an original release :-)

So does the French release have the complete above track listing accompanied by a few songs also?

Use the site's search engine. Quartet Records, under their previous name, released it. ?There was also a thread with issue of it coming from a lossy source.
